Galesburg City Council approved a bid to bring Pickleball to Bateman Park on Monday night. The five members present all voted in favor, minus Dwight White who abstained. City Manager Todd Thompson says the original bid was about $97,000 to convert the two tennis courts into six pickleball courts. Then after a second look staff decided to not replace the current fencing. That brought the bid amount from All Weather Courts Inc. that was approved down to $51,800.
