"Access to food is so important," CEO Todd Schnuck said. "The individuals that live in this part of the Columbia community really have to travel further than we believe that they should."
The Battle Crossing store will be the fourth Schnucks location in mid-Missouri and the chain's 112th location overall.
The new Columbia Schnucks location should be open by the end of March if there are no construction delays.
