The Autumn in the Ozarks Quilt Show by Hill ‘N Holler Quilters Guild is returning to Baxter County after four-year absence from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Educational Building at Baxter County Fairgrounds. Admission for the event is $7 each, with children age 12 and under free admission.
The Baxter Country Historical and Genealogical Society is extending its celebration of Baxter County’s Sesquicentennial celebration with events spanning the month of October, with the final being the Jam Fest on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Hickory Park.
The Bull Shoals Dam site is located on the White River about 10 miles west of Mountain Home, where the river divides Baxter and Marion counties. The site is named after its location at a shoal (a shallow and swift reach of river), borrowing from the French "boill," meaning a large spring.
