FRESH warnings have been issued as a crack is expected to lead to a cliff fall in 'the near future'. The West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked to investigate reports of a potentially dangerous piece of cliff in Seatown at around 6.15pm on Tuesday, July 20. Once on the scene, the area of the cliff was identified by officers, just to the west of the Anchor Inn in Seatown. Photos and grid references were sent for Solent Coastguard to notify the relevant local authority. The crack has been developing for some time and the recent weather - rain closely followed by very hot weather - is expected to contribute to a cliff fall in the near future.

Coastguards were called to the incident at Abbotsbury yesterday. A spokesman for Wyke Coastguard said: "As the team left station for one of our 'Risk Watch' patrols they were asked to proceed to Abbotsbury by Solent Coastguard. "West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team Coastguard was also tasked as we arrived on scene to the medical incident. "The casualty had dislocated his knee and was in severe pain. Due to high demand there was potentially going to be considerable wait for an ambulance. "All options for pain relief were explored so Lyme Regis RNLI Lifeboat Station launched to pick up RNLI Lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset from West Bay with pain relief and were only five minutes away when an ambulance arrived.
