A tense standoff ended without incident in Sandy Bay First Nation.
Manitoba First Nations Police Service Officers (MFNPS) received a call to a local residence on Sandy Bay First Nation, in relation to a man in possession of a firearm over the weekend.

The male suspect had locked all the doors and refused to allow the female occupant to leave. Police arrived on the scene and noticed a female leaving the residence. She stated that the male had assaulted her and that she believed he had a firearm in the residence. MFNPS Sandy Bay Detachment Officers, along with the Officers from the Crime reduction Team (CRT), and Officers from the Amaranth RCMP, surrounded the home as the male was refusing to exit the residence and was observed holding a firearm. ....
