Crisis Rocks Lagos Council Over N1.9Billion Corruption Allegation

Over N1.9 billion of the 2023 budget of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State has allegedly gone missing under the chairmanship of John Campos Ogundare. The missing fund belonging to the council’s taxpayers was discovered during an oversight function carried out by legislative councillors who also uncovered several financial irregularities and violations of procurement laws.

Sowohl Mittelgebirgsregionen als auch Städte, die in einer Flussaue liegen, seien gefährdet - so wie Jena. Es gibt keine Schwerpunkte für Unwetter , sagt Andreas Marx vom Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung in Leipzig. Also sei Thüringen genauso gefährdet wie alle anderen Bundesländer.

Die Hochwasserkatastrophe im Westen Deutschlands kann sich nach Ansicht von Experten überall und jederzeit wiederholen. Es kann und wird auch passieren , erklärt Kai Uwe Totsche, Professor für Hydrogeologie am Institut für Geowissenschaften der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. In Thüringen seien nicht nur die Mittelgebirgsregionen wie Thüringer Wald oder Südharz gefährdet, sondern auch Städte und Kommunen, die - wie zum Beispiel Jena - in einer Flussaue liegen. Auch Städte wie Erfurt, Weimar oder Gera seien im Ernstfall sehr gefährdet. Es könne alle treffen.
