HELPER — One person is dead after their vehicle struck a semitruck on U.S. Highway 6 near Helper on Wednesday night, Utah Highway Patrol officials said. According to a Utah Highway Patrol news release, at about 6:25 p.m. a white Dodge pickup was traveling east on U.S. 6 when it drifted across the centerline. A westbound semitruck attempted to avoid the collision by swerving onto the shoulder. The pickup struck the semitruck on the driver-side door area, said officials.
