A HISTORIC village pub near Chester has undergone a major refurbishment ahead of its reopening next week. The Swan at Tarporley, one of Cheshire’s most iconic pubs which dates back to the 16th century, is set to welcome back customers indoors on Monday (May 17). Guests will finally be able to experience the extensive renovation that the pub and its bedrooms have undergone during the lengthy period of closure. TWO Cheshire village pubs have confirmed that they will be reopening outdoors next week. Both The Swan at Tarporley and The Lion at Malpas are set to welcome back customers on Friday, April 16. The Bear Inns owned pubs will reopen for groups of up to six people or from two households – excluding children – every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon until 10pm.
