Spectrum Northeast LLC is in the process of purchasing Bee Line Inc. and under the town's existing franchise agreement Selectmen must approve any change of ownership.
Charter said the network design for the new gigabit-speed broadband access has already been completed, and construction is expected to begin in the coming months.
Charter Communications says the plan will increase broadband speeds for existing customers and expand rural access to more than 3,500 unserved Mainers.
