Minnesota is home to over 460 species of bees of all shapes, sizes, and colors. These bees face several challenges including habitat loss and a lack of pollen and nectar-rich flowers. University of Minnesota Bee Squad’s Brooke Nikkila will teach you how to tell the difference between different bees, wasps, flies, and even moths as well as how to support these pollinators in your own backyard.
The virtual event will feature talks given by regional beekeeping experts from the NEMNBA, UMN Bee Squad and nationally known beekeeper Mike Palmer.
Volunteer "ambassadors" make and sell honey with help from the University of Minnesota's Bee Squad.
