As per the rules laid down by the RBI, banks will be closed for the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, and will work on remaining Saturdays.
It should be noted that many bank holidays are regional in nature and may vary from state to state and from bank to bank. There are eight regional holidays and seven weekend bank holidays on the calendar.
RBI classifies bank holidays into three categories: holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement, and bank closures.
