Palata, 69, was driving a 2005 Mercedes Benz south in the northbound lanes on Interstate-91 when she crashed head-on into another vehicle at about noon just north of the highway overpass at Bemis Road, police said. Woman killed in wrong-way crash on Interstate 91 in Holyoke Updated Apr 05, 2021; HOLYOKE — A 69-year-old woman driving the wrong way on Interstate 91 died Saturday in a head-on crash with another car. The crash was reported around 12 p.m., state police said. It happened north of the highway overpass at Bemis Road, but police did not give an exact location.
