HUBBARD — City council on Tuesday approved pay increases for elected officials to begin in 2022. Hubbard Mayor Ben Kyle said there has been discussion on making changes to the elected and nonelected positions slowly, noting this past year the community faced the coronavirus pandemic that caused economic hardships with job losses. “This was a systematic approach to slowly adjust the salaries of these positions while having as least an impact on the budget as possible,” Kyle said. Jan 18, 2021 HUBBARD — Crews from several fire departments were called out Monday evening to control a fire at St. Patrick Parish on North Main Street. Mayor Ben Kyle, who is a member of the parish, said he went to the scene where other people were watching from nearby sidewalks as fire crews went into the back of the building. Smoke was seen coming from the building. A 911 report indicates the Hubbard Eagle Joint Fire District responded at 5:45 p.m. to a call of a structure fire at the church where smoke was reported seen coming from the back of the building.
