Bend Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 65287 85th Street in the Tumalo area early Sunday. According to Bend Fire, at 12:12 pm on December 18, Bend Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the Tumalo area. Law enforcement was first to arrive on scene, reporting smoke from the back of the single wide manufactured home. At 9:57 pm on Thursday, December 15, Bend Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 64809 Grande Loop in the Tumalo area. First arriving crews found a working attic fire and were able to quickly suppress it. According to the property owner, the power had gone out to the residence. They had contacted Central Electric Cooperative at approximately 9 pm, believing it to be a neighborhood outage, and gone to bed. People in Bend and the surrounding Rural Fire District area may receive a call or a text in mid-December asking participants to answer questions about Bend Fire & Rescue services and funding. Phone calls and texts requesting survey participation will begin December 12 and continue through December 17.
