A Forestville man charged last year following a rash of burglaries in numerous towns has been indicted by a Chautauqua County grand jury.
Gary Lang, 52, pleaded not guilty when arraigned Feb. 24 in Chautauqua County Court to a single charge of third-degree burglary, a class D felony. He was originally charged in January 2020 with two counts of second-degree burglary, five counts of petit larceny, third-degree criminal tampering and trespassing after an “extensive investigation” into burglaries reported over two months in the towns of Ripley, Pomfret and Gerry.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Lang allegedly entered two homes at night while residents were asleep and stole property. The Forestville man also reportedly took property from several unlocked vehicles. ....
