Six protesters were brutalised and later detained by the police for demanding the resignation of Buhari.
The protesters were violently dispersed with tear gas and chased into the bush where they were beaten and brutalised by the gun-totting security operatives, led by female police officer ASP Altine Daniel, who arrived at the venue of the protest in a white Hilux vehicle.
SaharaReporters learnt that the peaceful protesters were released on bail on Saturday night from the Nigeria Police Force detention.
The protest coincides with the 61st Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.
The protesters displayed banners and placards showing their demands.
