Minimum parking requirements are being removed in Saskatoon in the hopes of reducing costs for housing construction.
A big debate around bike lanes took place in Saskatoon city council on Wednesday.
The City of Saskatoon will consider removing minimum parking regulations after a report was submitted to the planning, development and community services committee Wednesday.
"I used to say we cant afford to say no to housing, I need to ramp that up to something a bit more and its no longer appropriate to say no to housing," said Chris Guérette.
"More people, more eyes on the street, that's a proven concept, it's safer. A lot of concerns are based out of fear of change," said Buena Vista resident Bertrand Bartake.
