New Kensington-Arnold expected to hire new superintendent


New Kensington-Arnold School Board is expected to vote Tuesday night to hire a new superintendent.
An agenda for the meeting said the board will consider hiring Christopher Sefcheck for a five-year term beginning July 1. His starting salary would be $135,000.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the board room at Valley Junior-Senior High School. People can attend in person or watch using the online Zoom platform.
Sefcheck, 52, of South Park, has been superintendent for the past three years at Bethlehem Center School District in Washington County.
“I am here to work with (residents) to do the best thing for our kids in the district,” Sefcheck said by phone prior to the meeting.

ORDER SUMMARY:
1. Dennis Harrsch (“Harrsch”), as a Staff Physician 2 for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, failed to comply with Section 1104(a) of the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act (“Ethics Act”), 65 Pa.C.S. § 1104(a), when he failed to file a Statement of Financial Interests for calendar year 2018 with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
2. This Commission hereby levies one maximum civil penalty against Harrsch at the rate of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) per day for each day his Statement of Financial Interests for calendar year 2018 has remained delinquent, for a total civil penalty of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00).  Harrsch is ordered to pay said civil penalty in the total amount of $250.00 by no later than the thirtieth (30th) day after the mailing date of this Order, by forwarding a check to the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission made payable to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for deposit in the State Treasury.
