Renowned as one of Edinburgh’s fry-up institutions and a greasy spoon favourite, Snax Cafe has been running since 1998 and claimed Scotland's 'Takeaway Breakfast of the Year' title just two years ago. The ‘Biggest Breakfast’ includes a fried egg, two sausages, haggis, beans, black pudding, square sausage, hash brown, bacon and a tattie scone. The dish is also served with a customary grilled half tomato and buttered roll. As Mr Mason enjoys the dish, he recalls "thousands of drunken nights in Edinburgh all coming back to haunt me at once”.
