Say we re just fulfilling our obligations to the united nations which we are a member and they asked for this action. that doesn t work it all gets sticky because this is something less than a war. he can say it s not a war it s a police action. let s pretend it s officially a war. bill: then he would have to. if it was world war iii and the united nations says united states get involved we have to go to world war iii. bill: you would have to then. they are playing semantics. go to the u.s. congress on something bill: this is murky territory as you pointed out it? is murky. here is the bottom line as i see it because you keep confusing everybody. he does need to get congressional authority. he didn t. he is doing what every president before him has done for the past 40 years. bill: this is barack obama as a candidate. the president does not have power, under the constitution, to unilaterally authorize military attack in a situation. that does not involve stopping ....
Libyans? why not bahrain, saudi arabia? all kinds of things. bill: you don t think they are doing due diligence in analyzing the situation? now the question becomes why? why are they in the tank? well, you know, bill, this is partisan politics. i think people that support president obama wanted to see him as a reluctant warrior. but, yet, he was the one that gave us the surge in afghanistan. we still have troops in iraq. we are dropping drones in pakistan that are killing innocent people. and now we see a what i would say a rush to another war in libya. so, at some point, have you got to admit that whether he is reluctant or not, he is giving us a lot of words for a peace president. bill: s peace prize that he got. what do you think about that in hindsight the nobel peace prize. it wasn t in hindsight. when i heard that i did a double-take. as i said this is a president who has given us more war, not less war. ....
