Social activist and founder of 'Sulabh International' Bindeshwar Pathak, who campaigned extensively to alleviate the plight of manual scavengers, died at a Delhi hospital on Tuesday.
Pathak, 80, died on Tuesday after a cardiac arrest
According to AIIMS official spokesperson, Pathak had developed pain in his chest and was being brought to AIIMS emergency in Delhi when he suffered a cardiac arrest at around 1.30 pm. He was 80.
The aide said that Pathak hoisted the national flag in the morning on the occasion of Independence Day and collapsed soon after that.
