NCDRC Raps Railways for Demanding 'Original' Tickets, Directs To Refund Penalty Charged, Compensation and Rs25,000 Cost

Coming down heavily on the Railways for refusing to accept a computer-generated print-out and then levying a fine on a passenger for failing to show an 'original' ticket, the national consumer disputes redressal commission (NCDRC) advised the chief executive of the Railways to look into this matter and to inculcate accountability and systemic improvements so that consumers, at large, are not put to such loss and injury in future.
