Nevada recently passed a sweeping and restrictive consumer health data privacy law that requires covered businesses and individuals to provide privacy rights to consumers who provide health data to companies not covered by other laws that apply to health care providers.

Oregon passed the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act OCPA June 22. OCPA gives consumers in Oregon the right to confirm the collection of personal data by companies and request its deletion or to opt out of data sales or targeted ads. Protects sensitive identifiable data.

Nevada has become the latest state to pass a law protecting residents private health data online. Companies which compile personal data must disclose the collection to consumers and must obtain consent.

Nevada has enacted a Health Data Privacy Law similar to Washington State's My Health My Data Act. Law requires businesses which collect identifiable health data to obtain consent from consumers before collecting or selling health data.
