One hundred years ago, it looked like the Missoula City Band was done. Kaput. All washed up. Finished. Out of business. Down the drain. Wiped out. Or as announced in the local paper, “The Garden City Band has disbanded and presented its instruments to the University Band.”

It takes lots people to keep our local non-profit organizations going. And in recent years, the "Missoula gives" website fund drive has been a nice boost for many groups, including those in the Bitterroot Valley. "Bitterroot Gives" has increased in size and in results each year as the on-line donation drive has made it easy to drop a few (or a lot) of dollars into your favorite organization's cashbox.
