BJP MLA Ramdular Gond, who was recently sentenced to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a girl nine years ago, has been disqualified as a member of the Uttar Pradesh assembly, official sources said on Saturday.
India News: NEW DELHI: A UP court on Friday handed down a 25-year rigorous imprisonment sentence to Ramdular Gond, a BJP MLA, for the rape of a girl that occurred.
The incident took place in 2014 and a case was registered against Ramdular Gond under relevant IPC sections and the stringent POCSO Act.
BJP MLA Gond convicted of raping a minor nine years ago; court to award quantum of punishment tomorrow.
The local court in Sonbhadra will pronounce the quantum of sentence in the case on Friday.
