The Indian government has distributed job letters to 5.5 lakh (550,000) youth since October and aims to provide 10 lakh (1 million) jobs by the end of the year. The Minister of State for Development of the Northeastern Region, B L Verma, handed over appointment letters to 250 candidates at a recent job fair. The event is part of the government s efforts to reduce unemployment in the country. The recruitment drive will help the security forces operate more efficiently and effectively.
The Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill 2023 was passed by the Rajya Sabha, with the goal of making the functioning of cooperatives more transparent by introducing regular elections and prohibiting appointments of related individuals. The bill also aims to establish a Cooperative Election Authority , offering electoral reforms for the cooperative sector, and set up a Cooperative Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, and Development Fund.
