Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said earlier today that six fire engines and a drone team had been sent to the iconic structure and urged people to 'stay away'.

The town was brought to a standstill earlier as emergency services rushed to the scene of the 158-metre structure.
Drone and rescue team are currently at the scene after a suspected fire broke out at top of iconic Blackpool Tower
The force flew a helicopter over the 158m tower to confirm there was no blaze.
