Credit Morehead State University Maiqi Qin, a senior from Salt Lick who attends the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics at Morehead State, has been named a semifinalist for the 2021 Coca‑Cola Scholars Program. Qin is moving to the next round of the selection process to become a Coca-Cola Scholar and receive a $20,000 college scholarship.  In addition to her studies at the Craft Academy, Qin works as the social media manager for Dear Asian Youth, a non-profit organization that seeks to diversify the Asian narrative while empowering marginalized communities.   SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — During a year that has been dark for many, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department has aimed to be a beacon of light with its “12 Days of Kindness” campaign. SLTPD partnered with Tahoe AleWorx to pay it forward. SLTPD donated $600 worth of gifts to Christmas Cheer Officer Nixon dressed up as Santa to deliver gifts.
