JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown and Minot squared off in WDA girls basketball Tuesday night at Jerry Meyer Arena in the Jays home opener. Jamestown started fast with a 9-0 run to start the game but the Majettes battled back and grabbed a 35-29 lead by halftime. Minot increased the lead to as many as eight in the second half but the Blue Jays fought back and built its lead to as many as eight midway through the second half. Minot chipped away and regained the lead in the final minute when seventh grader Maggie Fricke knocked down a three ball. After a Jays miss, Fricke nailed a couple free throws to ice the game. ....
