In her first night as a volunteer greeter Tuesday at the St. Joseph County Health Department’s coronavirus vaccine clinic at St. Hedwig’s Parish, Amanda Govaert Konrath loved seeing seniors’ joy at receiving the vaccine, including the elderly man who suggested turning on the reception hall’s disco ball and exclaimed, “Let’s have a party!” But by the end of the shift, Govaert Konrath had her own reason to celebrate.
