OTLEY Liberal Democrats have announced two candidates for the forthcoming Town Council by-elections on May 6, following the resignation of two councillors on Ashfield Ward and Danefield Ward. Tom Featherstone has been selected for Ashfield, which comprises all addresses north of the river and west of Newall Carr Road, while James Sebright has been selected for Danefield, which includes homes east of Gay Lane and south of Side Copse, and out towards Pool. I read with great interest your front page article and in particular the comments from the politicians. There appeared to be a lack of awareness and readiness in response to the “Public Consultation” put forward by the Consortium for the future East of Otley Development, houses and Relief Road. In a project that has been around for 20 years the Consortium have stolen a march with their recent document and caught the three Leeds City Councillors and the Town’s MP on the back foot.
