(KERO) — The Delano Police Department is continuing its efforts to give back to the community. Recently the department donated $2,000 to Valley Children s Hospital in honor of a local cancer patient. Six-year-old Brian Aguilar was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. DPD first shared his story in November when the department decided to donate their monthly hair-maintenance expenses to Valley Children’s Hospital. When we met him everyone was in awe of him and his fighting spirit, so as a department we decided that there was more that we could do, said Cpl. Jose Madrigal.
