Burlington Mayor Appoints City Councilor To Lead City Department

The Burlington, Vermont City Council may have an open seat as early as next week. Mayor Miro Weinberger on Wednesday announced the appointment of City Councilor Brian Pine to serve as the city’s new Community and Economic Development Office director beginning June 7th.  “I believe Brian is uniquely qualified to lead CEDO at this moment.” If the appointment is approved by the city council, Pine – the Ward 3 Progressive – must resign his council seat. Mayor Weinberger plans to call a special election for August 17th. Tags:
