FDOT says Fort Myers road project shift across the street in weeks
The Florida Department of Transportation will move the work on Cleveland Avenue to the east side of the road in coming weeks after vexing many small businesses on the west side of the thoroughfare. Brian Rick, a spokesman for FDOT, said that the project is "complicated" because water, sewer and drainage pipes are being rebuilt under the road as part of a joint project with the city of Fort Myers.
