Autopsy reveals six victims were first tortured then shot

A postmortem examination conducted on the bodies of six people abducted and killed in Baringo last week has revealed they were first tortured.
Dr Wamboi Wangare, the Baringo County pathologist and Dr Titus Ngulungu, the Independent Medical Legal Unit pathologist performed the postmortem yesterday at Baringo County Hospital morgue.
Victims identified
The victims were Paul Kosgei (human resource officer for Teachers Service Commission in Tiaty), Nelson Kordado (primary school head teacher), Brian Silale (IEBC official), David Kukat (medical student), Todoreng Tiyan (ranger) and Loporuso Sihreng (local resident).

IEBC staff found dead

An IEBC member of staff has been killed.  The remains of Brian Silale and five other people were discovered on Wednesday at Arabal sub-location, Baringo South.
Through a press statement, IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati noted that the deceased, who worked as a Constituency Administrative Assistant (CAA) for Tiaty Constituency Office, was last seen on January 19, 2021.
“Silale was last seen alive being picked by unknown persons together with five other people from Chemolingot shopping centre in Tiaty.
“He was later murdered under unclear circumstances and the remains of his body together with other bodies were recovered on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Arabal sub-location,” read Chebukati’s statement in part.
