TTC earnings call for the period ending December 31, 2021.

The Iowa House went two different directions Monday as it extended more local control to cities to deal with public nuisances, but took away local control from public and private schools, day care centers and colleges by prohibiting them from requiring COVID-19 vaccinations.

A proposal to enable parents to start legal proceedings against schools or educators who distribute books or materials the parents deem obscene advanced Wednesday at the Iowa Capitol. Also advancing was a bill that would require Iowa, ISU and UNI sports teams to schedule games against each other.

The governor had canceled planned appearances on January 13 and 14; staff did not clarify whether she received a second COVID-19 test.

While not as far-reaching as the initial proposal, the plan would give Governor Kim Reynolds more control over the panels that nominate judges.
