The 63 matrics in the class of 2023 at East London's Merrifield College achieved a 100% pass rate and a 99% bachelor's degree pass rate in the IEB exams.An A aggregate was achieved by 25% of the pupils, with 68% achieving an average aggregate over 70%. Talia Aliber, of Kingswood College, in Makhanda, is on the national IEB commendable achievers list, while East London’s Merrifield Preparatory School and College pupil Sarah McCausland topped the outstanding achievers list.
