Wegmans said it is closing the Worcester Street store because it struggled to attract enough customers to a mall location.

The two-level store opened just five years ago.
“Unfortunately, with this non-traditional location we are unable to attract enough customers for our business model to work," said Brien MacKendrick, human resources director, Wegmans New England division.
