ALBANY — The state’s head of economic development assured lawmakers Wednesday that the anticipated $1.6 billion investment in the governor’s budget to expand access to high-speed internet will be different
"The pandemic exposed how without broadband internet, New Yorkers can be disconnected from school, work, and families," Governor Hochul said.
The state Department of Public Service has set a deadline of Feb. 28 for residents to take a survey as part of its Broadband Assessment Program.
The Department of Public Service said it was encouraged by the number of residents who have already completed the survey and urges more New Yorkers to take part.
