The eight who were chosen include three Alaskans and five university leaders from outside of Alaska. Some of the candidates from Alaska include the state's former Governor Sean Parnell, another is the current superintendent of the Anchorage School district Deena Bishop. As part of the final phase of the chancellor search, virtual student and community forums are planned for April 13-14. Bruce Schultz is currently serving as UAA’s interim chancellor until UA President Pat Pitney makes a final decision on the next UAA Chancellor. That decision is expected to be announced in early May.

BATON ROUGE — The LSU AgCenter is surveying agricultural producers to estimate damage totals resulting from last month’s freezing weather. The recent freezing weather came just as farmers were getting back on their feet from last year’s disastrous hurricane season. Kurt Guidry, LSU AgCenter economist, said he is compiling information for a report on how the freeze has affected agriculture, and he is sending out emails for a survey to make estimates.
