Brush fire scorches about 30 acres of woodland in Abington
A brush fire that started overnight burned through approximately 30 acres of woodland near Ames Nowell State Park in Abington.Abington Deputy Fire chief Jack Glynn says winds gusted over 30 mph and kept blowing the flames in different directions.No buildings were lost to the fire, but it took firefighters from five different towns more than eight hours to extinguish it."We use shovels, brooms, water cans -- as we call them -- or backpacks with water in it and hose line.
