“What I’m told is that when it all started happening, she ran up to the counter and started to call 911, and that’s when she was shot,” one of the victims' brothers said.
As communities in Maine grapple with grieving 18 people killed in a mass shooting at a bowling alley and restaurant, officials are imploring thousands of residents to continue sheltering in place Friday as a massive search for the suspect is underway.
While police have not identified the victims yet, family members have come forward to talk of the loss of their loved ones.
Businesses, schools and offices in the southern part of the state were closed on Thursday as the authorities sought a 40-year-old suspect.
