The deal was reached after a marathon weekend of negotiating that ended with a tentative agreement on the table around 12:15 a.m. Monday.
The agreement covers more than 6,300 healthcare workers at Buffalo General Medical Center, Oishei Children’s Hospital, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, DeGraff Medical Park, and local clinics.
Kaleida Health has reached a tentative three-year contract with CWA and 1199 SEIU.
After working more than three months after the initial expiration of their contract, nurses and other health care workers voted by 96 percent to authorize a strike against Kaleida Health.
“Our next step is to show Kaleida that people are very serious,” said CWA Local 1168 President Cori Gambini.
