Al Maiorino - President Biden Wants to Build Support for Wind Energy - Renewable Energy Magazine, at the heart of clean energy journalism

Wednesday, 10 February 2021
In the first weeks of his presidency, the Biden administration signed a series of executive orders prioritizing combating climate change. Within the orders, the administration plans to move the United States to 100% green electricity by 2035, up from 38% presently supplied. The order also calls to end fossil fuel subsidies which will save the federal government billions of dollars per year. With the money saved, the United States can invest in sustainable energy sources. In addition, the United States has rejoined the Paris climate agreement, the largest international effort to conquer global warming. With this executive order, the administration predicts to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. To reach this goal, the current administration in Washington commits to double US offshore wind leases by 2030.  ....

Impeaching Trump Was an Act of Self-Defense
In impeaching President Trump a second time, Democrats believe they’re acting to remove “a clear and present danger” not only to American citizens and democracy at large, but to themselves specifically.

Representative Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, a 12-term veteran of Congress, was holed up in her office when the mob arrived. Thousands of MAGA diehards had followed President Donald Trump’s call to march to the Capitol to protest the certification of the Electoral College vote. “It was like a declaration of war against the United States, issued by the president of the United States,” Schakowsky told me. ....
