The built environment is responsible for nearly half of all CO2 emissions worldwide, with a large proportion attributed to building materials and construction. As Australia’s electricity grid continues to decarbonise, lowering the embodied carbon of buildings through the specification of low-carbon building products will be critical for the sector, and Australia as whole, to achieve net zero emissions.
