Adopt a wild horse online from the Wyoming Honor Farm LANDER, Wyo. — The Bureau of Land Management will hold an online wild horse adoption event April 27–May 4, 2021, featuring approximately 35 wild horses gentled by inmate trainers at the Wyoming Honor Farm in Riverton, Wyoming. The horses are saddle-started and halter-started, and come from herd management areas throughout Wyoming.  The adoption will be coordinated through the BLM’s Wild Horse and Burro Online Corral at https://wildhorsesonline.blm.gov/. BLM to thin wild horse herds in northwest Colorado

The BLM decision was announced Monday afternoon. “The BLM is committed to sustaining an ecological balance in the Piceance-East Douglas HMA,” said White River Field Manager Kent Walter in the news release. “Our goal is to have healthy horses on healthy rangelands.” The Piceance-East Douglas Herd Management Area includes central Rio Blanco County east of Colorado Highway 139 and south of Colorado Highway 64.
