Nearly 20K Caraga farmers grow inbred rice seeds in 2021

HIGH-YIELDING SEEDS. The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) in Agusan has reported that 19,615 rice farmers from three provinces in the Caraga region engaged in certified inbred rice farming in 2021. This year, PhilRice said, 65,388 bags of certified inbred rice seeds were released to farmers in the region, covering 32,693 hectares of rice fields.
