Deforestation in Brazil's cerrado threatens water security countrywide
Dubbed the cradle of Brazil’s waters, the biome is home to the springs for eight of the country’s 12 most crucial river basins. It is also the world’s second largest underground water reservoir. Its waters are also vital for Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay.
