Death toll in rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh rises to 78; orange alert issued for next two days.
BJP National President JP Nadda, accompanied by Union Minister Anurag Thakur, arrived at Annadale Helipad in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, to assess the damage inflicted by the recent heavy rains and floods in the state.
According to BJP President J P Nadda, the Centre is worried about the dire situation in Himachal Pradesh, which has been devastated by rain, and would make every effort to assist those who have been displaced.
BJP President J P Nadda, along with other party leaders, has visited rain-battered regions of Himachal Pradesh to assess the situation and provide assurance of relief and rehabilitation. The death toll in the state due to rain-related incidents has risen to 78, with 24 deaths caused by landslides in Shimla.
All efforts should be on relief, restoration and rehabilitation, Nadda told reporters in Shimla after visiting the rain-affected areas of Poanta in Sirmaur and Shimla town.
