Intruder killed by homeowner identified
RHONDOR DOWLAT-ROSTANT The intruder who was shot dead during an attempted home invasion in Freeport on Monday morning, has been identified. Police said the dead suspect was identified as Travis Chankadial from Freeport. According to a police report, at about 12:55 am, the homeowner at Calcutta Settlement #2 told police that he was awakened by noises in his house. As he exited his bedroom in an attempt to make checks, he reportedly was confronted by the intruder who was dressed in dark clothing, wearing a hoodie and mask.
